You can create a website from scratch. Write your first lines of code and give life to an idea of your own. But in today's digital world, technology isn't just about what you can make.

and how you evaluate what you see online.
How do you recognize if an image is
real or created with the help of
artificial intelligence. How do you protect
your personal data on social media.
And how do you distinguish trustworthy
information from misinformation in
an environment where content
is produced and spreads more quickly
than ever.

This dual dimension of digital education was highlighted by the 10th cycle of Vodafone's Code Like a Girl, bringing more than 50 girls aged 14 to 18 closer not only to programming, but also to the skills they need to move confidently and safely in the digital world.

Coding, collaborating and creating

O
code Like a Girl's goal remains constant
ten years ago: to give more
girls the chance to meet the
world of programming and to
explore new perspectives in
stem domains.

This year
in the first week of September, at
vodafone headquarters, the participating
got to know the basic principles of coding,
collaborated in groups and, with the
mentoring of Technology team executives
of Vodafone who participated as mentors, designed
and built their own websites.

Transportation
from the introduction into basic languages and
programming concepts, acquired
valuable digital skills that
form the foundation for understanding
of the modern technological world.
At the same time, they became familiar with ways
thinking such as problem solving,
creativity and collaboration,
skills that are considered highly
important for the future of work
and their professional development.

Most experienced programming in practice for the first time. For all of them, however, it was an opportunity to experiment, create and see in practice how an idea can be turned into a real digital project. To date, more than 450 girls have participated in the program, discovering new possibilities and skills that can be harnessed in the future.

Digital well-being in a changing world

This year
the program also focused on another
important aspect of technology: how
we can use it in a way
conscious, responsible and safe.

As part of the Vodafone Foundation's "Digital Skills and Inclusion" strategic pillar, Generation Next implemented interactive digital well-being workshops focusing on two issues that are increasingly of concern to the young generation: the protection of personal data and social media oversharing, as well as the relationship between artificial intelligence and misinformation.

Because today digital literacy is not limited to the use of tools. It also includes the ability to evaluate the content we consume, protect our digital presence, and make more informed decisions about what we share and trust online.

In an era where images, videos, and texts can be created with the help of AI, critical thinking becomes as important a skill as technological knowledge.

From an idea to 10 websites

The
program ended with the presentation
of the 10 websites created by
participants, reflecting in practice
what they learned during the
of the program

G
winning team was awarded with a laptop, while
the second received preferential offers
for Vodafone stores.

Because technology is a tool you can learn to use, create with it and shape your own relationship with it. And that's exactly the essence of Code Like a Girl: to give more girls the knowledge, skills and confidence to actively participate in shaping tomorrow's digital world.
